Guam - The Port Authority of Guam is closer to breaking ground on its modernization plans, and today kicked off Port Week. Port general manager Mary Torres says the celebration started with a flag raising ceremony on the port property this morning where she was joined by island leaders. Torres says she oversees an agency with about 370 employees as well as Port users.
She adds the Port celebrated these past few weeks with sporting events allowing her employees some down time. Torres says a gala event will also be held this Friday to present awards and recognize her staff for their hard work.
