Guam - The Sherwood Resort, now doing business as the Verona Resort and Spa, raised concern from both the Department of Public Works and Guam Fire Department over issues on the hotel's occupancy permit and passing proper inspections. DPW director Carl Dominguez along with his administrator for permits and inspections met with the hotel's owner David Su today with hopes of resolving the matter.
According to Su, he gave them a tour of the hotel along with addressing their concerns. Su tells KUAM News that he plans to have his contractor apply for a certificate of occupancy application tomorrow for areas that are ready to be occupied. GFD meanwhile is still waiting for clearance on the fire alarm and sprinkler certification from the hotel's fire protection contractor, Falcon Fire, adding the hotel is still under a notice of hazard.
DPW is withholding comment on today's meeting.
