Guam - Public Health inspectors found more than they bargained for when they visited Finegayan Elementary School in Dededo last week in response to a suspected foodborne illness outbreak that remains under investigation. There were at least 8 students who had gotten sick and food samples were taken from the lunch.
During the inspection, Public Health issued a total of 30 demerits for various violations that included milk not being stored in the correct temperature, inoperable food warmers, a lack of hot water in the cafeteria restrooms and no toilet paper or paper towels in the female restroom. The demerits resulted in a "C" rating.
Sodexo must rectify the violations before they are re-inspected.
