Guam - Guam Election
Commission executive director Maria Pangelinan experienced running her very
first election and says she's ready to tackle the Decision 2012 General
Election in November. One area she notices needs improvement is ensuring the
ballots and tabulators are protected from humidity.
"In some polling places, there's no air conditioning, the so
ballots are sitting on the ballots boxes on the way to the university, there's
humidity in the buses, that could have made the machine counting slower,"
she said.
The GEC in the meantime resumed voter registration today. As well,
the deadline to file for candidacy for the Guam Education Board and the Consolidated
Commission on Utilities is this Friday.
The same day the GEC board is scheduled to meet next.
