Guam - While it won't be
decided until the General Election, the GEC's legal counsel is reviewing what
happens if the commission doesn't receive arguments for or against the for-profit
bingo initiative. Notices to the public have been published but the GEC hasn't
received any responses from proponents or opponents.
The commission's legal counsel is reviewing what happens if they
don't get any responses since the law requires the GEC to mail out
informational pamphlets with arguments for and against the initiative.
The deadline to submit those comments is September 22. Meanwhile a
draft objective legal analysis of the for-profit bingo proposal was presented
to commissioners on Monday for their review.
