Guam - They've been environmental stewards not only at the University of Guam, but in the island community as
well. And now the UOG Green Program wants you to join their team.
Having started back in 2009 focusing mostly on recycling, the UOG
Green interns have become the campus leaders for environmental sustainability
along with being role models for the island. In addition to not only learning
about environmental sustainability, making a difference in the community and
developing camaraderie among interns and the UOG Green Army, interns take part
in recycling, paper shredding, gardening/permaculture, educational outreach to
schools and community, energy auditing, tree planting and energy data
collecting and analyzing- ultimately they would be full-fledged teaching and
research assistants.
The internship's starting pay is $8 an hour, lasts for one
semester and opens up opportunities for green jobs after graduation.
For more information on other requirements you can call the Center
for Island Sustainability at 734-0478 or stop by their office at House 32 in
Dean's Circle at the university Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.
