Guam - Our men's national soccer team, Matao will be heading back
to the Philippines
next month to compete in the Paulino Alcantra Cup which was formerly known as
the Long Teng Cup. Matao recently moved up 10 spots in the FIFA world rankings
after defeating Macau 3-0 in the East Asian

Guam will get another shot at the Azkals, Philippines national team who beat
them on the trip the team took back in June.
Matao will make a final cut down to an 18-man traveling team for
the tournament, which is scheduled for September 25th through the 29th. Teams
competing in the event are the host country Philippines,
Guam, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei and Macau. The
Philippines
currently is the highest-ranked team in the tournament at 150 in the world.
Chinese Taipei is second at 175 with Guam at
184. Macau enters as the lowest-ranked team in
the tournament at No. 201 in the world, their lowest ranking in team history.
