Guam - In Jiu-Jitsu news students from the Gracie
Barra School
recently competed in the 5th Annual BJJ Worlds for Kids and Teens Tournament
held at University of California, San
Bernardino on July 21st and 22nd. 5 students went on
the trip brothers Jordan and Skylar Lujan, Darren Cruz and brothers Gavin Whitt
and Jonah Whitt.
Instructor Caesar Whitt said, "We brought home 5 medals, so
we got 2 gold in the expert division and 3 bronze in the yellow belt division.
I'm really proud of the boys because coming from a little tiny island and
having such a small team I felt we did very well and we represented Guam the best possible way we could. We were trying to be
the best ambassadors for the sport we could for Guam."
Skylar Lujan took the Bronze Medal in the Gi White Belt 10yr old
Division, Darren Cruz earned Bronze in the Beginners No-Gi 9yr old Division,
and Gavin Whitt took Bronze in the No-Gi 10yr old Division.
Jonah Whitt returned to the tournament and defended his Gold Medal
Green Belt Gi Division after winning Gold in last year's 2011 Orange Belt
Division.
