Guam - In MFL football this year's title game takes place this
Saturday at 2:30 pm at the U.O.G Field between the Pepsi Warriors and Cars Plus
Rams. The Rams are back for the 3rd straight year after beating the Limelite
Spartans while the Warriors make their way to the big game after beating the
Shell Hal's Angels. We caught up with the coaches from the two teams, Bruce Meno
from the Cars Plus Rams and Loring Cruz from the Pepsi Warriors to hear what
they have to say about the big game.
Bruce Meno, coach
for the Cars Plus Rams, told KUAM Sports, "Pepsi right now is a very
disciplined team. We are going to go out there and work hard and go back to the
basics. We are going to look back at all the things we did all year and adjust
what we need to and get better at where our strengths are. We are looking at
being humble this game, this is a big game and we are going to have fun and
playing some Ram football."
Warriors head
coach Loring Cruz said, "Both times and I'm not taking anything away from
the Rams, but we hurt ourselves in both games. The last game we ran out of gas
and the guys didn't play in their assignments. They beat us in the last few seconds
of the game. The second game they beat us by 1 second again because of miscues
and the coverage ad hopefully this time we don't give that to the Rams.
Hopefully no more free bees, fumbles and interceptions this time and that's
basically what has happened. Hopefully we play a perfect game or a near perfect
game because that's the only way you can beat the Rams."
