Guam - The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has
announced that a federal judge has approved the consent decree between Aviation
Concepts and one of its former employees.
In September 2011 the EEOC filed the lawsuit accusing Aviation Concepts of
firing Armando Perez, who was an assistant mechanic and practicing Jehovah's
terminated in June 2010 because he would not raise the American and Guam flags because it was against his religion beliefs.
According to the consent decree Aviation Concepts will pay Perez $51,000 and
has agreed to revise its policies and procedures regarding employee rights.
