Guam - The Guam Women's Tackle Football League is scheduled to
kickoff on April 14 at Eagles Field in Mangilao. The league has already been
recognized by the IWFL in Texas as an
affiliate league allowing the players competing here on island a chance to
qualify for post season invitations to the IWFL Championship Weekend held each
summer in Round Rock, Texas.
Jacob Dowdell,
the GWTFL's commissioner, told KUAM Sports, "This organization has been
recognized by the International Women's Football League based out of Texas and our hope is to put together an all star team to
either travel to Texas or host a team from Japan or go to Japan. We have some really solid
outstanding football players and it's going to be hard hitting, fast paced and
family friendly so come out and enjoy the games. As a nationally recognized
organization we are always looking to expand so any interested gridiron females

line with a team. We have a sponsored event at the Zen Ultra Lounge located on
