Guam - Governor Eddie Calvo and First Lady Christine Calvo made sure their visit in the nation's capitol included paying respect at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and the National World War II Memorial. They paused to pray when passing the name of a Guamanian at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall as well as laid flowers at Guam's portion of the National WWII Memorial. Calvo states, "I have always had the utmost respect for our men and women in the military. Many of my friends and family are serving in the armed forces. In my opinion, our people have demonstrated time and again that they are the most patriotic people in the nation." First Lady Calvo added, "Eddie and I keep our heroes, past and present, in our hearts and minds. We pray for the souls of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our island and country, and we pray for our men and women in uniform who are risking their lives to protect our freedom."
