Guam - Healthcare Committee
Chair Senator Dennis Rodriguez, Jr is working with Public Health and GGARP/SPIMA to resolve their differences
over the contract to operate the island's senior centers. The contract expires
at the end of the month and as a result of failed negotiations over cost, an MOU
was signed between Public Health and the Mayors Council of Guam to take over
the senior center operations effective March 1.
Senator Rodriguez says he held a meeting this morning with GGARP
and Public Health and is hoping to see a resolution to their disagreements
soon. Rodriguez says during today's meeting GGARP agreed that it would be
willing to run the operations of the senior centers at the same price as the Mayors
Council.
GGARP has been running the senior centers for more than 40
years.
