Guam - The two-time defending champion Shell Hal's Angels open up the 2012 MFL Football season with a 21-7 win over the Limelite Spartans. The Angels trailed 7-0 at halftime after Spartans quarterback Paul Flores took the ball in from 10-yards out for the only score of the half. Flores muscling his way in behind a host of defenders. Steve Phillips and the Angels turned it up in the second half, Phillips hitting Josh Bulla here for the 26 yard hook up to tie the game at 7 a piece after the PAT.
SP would later find Bulla again this time in the right corner of the end zone to take the lead 14-7. Paul Flores managed to keep the ball moving for the Spartans with his legs, scrambling in the pocket and taking it himself for a couple of first downs.
The Angels sealed the deal late in the game as the Limelite Spartans look to get one last drive going, but Manny Moreno picked off a Flores pass for the interception turned touchdown for the 21-7 win.
