Guam - The Ready, Set, Snorkel event scheduled in Merizo today has been canceled due to the presence of jellyfish near the pier. Jellyfish are difficult to see in the water and can cause painful stings if touched. Residents are reminded not to touch jellyfish, in or out of the water. Jellyfish out of the water can still inflict a sting.

The next free snorkeling activity will be form 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, at Ypao Beach in Tumon. These events are open to all ages and abilities. There is no fee and no registration required. For more information email tammyjoanderson.taft@epa.guam.gov,val.a.brown@gmail.com or call 988-7582.
