Guam - Thanks to the initiative of their librarian, Simon Sanchez High School was awarded $10,000 from Macy's in support of the Read for Run program. The program allows the school to buy resources to promote literacy.

Librarian Sudi Napalan told KUAM News, "We will be purchasing a lot of books for our students as you can see our library is pretty bare and empty, but we'd love to buy materials that would be interesting and reading appropriate for our students. It's all to the students they have inspired me to be able to write a grant; this is the very same library I used when I was in high school. It's something I could give back to the community and give back to our students."

Any organization can go onto www.macys.com to view grant forms to get started.
