Guam - The Cars Plus Rams
will take to the field on Sunday against the Pepsi Warriors. The Rams are
looking to some of their young players stepping up and making an impact in this
year's season. Dan Elliot, Rams coach, said, "We actually have some of the
other guys that play for the other teams like the Angels and Pepsi and I think
we have a good mix of a young group out here. That's what I'm real excited
about.
"We have a real young group and the quarterback Will Williams was coached
by Bruce Meno and myself for a short time at FD, so were pretty familiar with
him. Part of the reason why we are out here is because kids like that coming
out and we just want to see the league live on."
For some of the veterans on the team last year's season was
a disappointment leaving a bad taste in their mouths after losing to the Angels
in the title game. Veteran wideout Danny Cepeda said, "We have the two-time
defending champions Shell Hal's Angels going for their third championship and
the last two years we have been bridesmaids. Last year we were the Patriots of
the MFL going undefeated then losing one game. So were going to work hard and
approach this year with a lot of good work ethics here at practice, take it to
the game and hopefully we can play in that championship game and this time
hopefully the third time is a charm and we get that cup."
With the team in a rebuilding stage with some key players
out for the season offensive coordinator Bruce Meno is confident with the guys
suiting up on Sunday. "I'm looking forward to this season, a lot of
competitive teams out there and we are just going to go out there and compete.
We are looking forward to Will Williams leading us at quarterback and we also
have Shane Aguon backing him up. We have a lot of promising receivers and our
front line is pretty promising as well. We look forward to this season so come
out and enjoy."
