Guam - The Guam
Community College hosted National
Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians executive director William Brown
today, where he spoke to several public safety personnel about the Nationally-Certified
Emergency Medical Technician Program. It's a program GCC will be implementing
so the EMTs on Guam have the opportunity get a
national certification.
Guam Fire Department Chief Joey San Nicolas said, "Just
like anything new and any change that comes there is always going to be some
resistance however this is a big move for GFD, not to say our standards are not
valid but this just adds another feather to our cap for our EMS program."
GCC is developing a nationally certified EMT course, and
eventually a paramedic program.
