Guam - It's a project we first told you about last July, and
if you've driven by Tumon recently, you've probably seen the rides set up, too -
now the Tagada Guam Amusement Park
is close to completion and set to open officially to the public in mid-March.
Chief operations officer Mark Day says rides are 90 percent
complete, telling KUAM News, "The rides are coming to shape here and we're
getting pretty excited. The energy is building up and I think a lot of the
public is noticing what's going on and we hope to have a little more energy on
this side of Tumon."
Although the project was originally set to open later this
month, Tagada Guam is still testing operations and the rides itself before
holding a grand opening. The first phase consists of a huge swing called The
Viking, bumper cars and a gravity-defying ride called The Tagada. The team has
since hired local talent to serve as DJs to incorporate music within the rides.
Although prices are still being worked on, there will be a
local discounted rate.
