Guam - Discussions are still ongoing between TakeCare Insurance
and the Guam Memorial Hospital
over whether the latter will reconsider its decision to stop a direct payer
agreement. On March 20 TakeCare patients would be considered self-pay patients
at the hospital.
GMH management and the board made the decision based on the
company's denial of hospital billings. TakeCare has been trying to have the
termination of the direct payer agreement rescinded. Interim hospital
administrator Rey Vega says there have been some good discussions and the
parties have been agreeing on some issues that they previously disagreed
on.
Vega says there be a good outcome that may be announced sometime
next week.
