Guam - The Department of Defense's Office of Inspector General
released a federally mandated annual
report compiled by the Interagency Coordination Group of Inspectors General
for the Guam Realignment. The group is tasked with conducting, supervising and
coordinating audits and investigations of the treatment handling and
expenditure of amounts appropriated or made available for military construction
projects on Guam.
The audit outlines
how much in federal contracts and grants were spent and obligated in 2011. It
also outlines the significant events that transpired last year such as the
signing of the Programmatic Agreement, and the congressional visit by Senators
Carl Levin and Jim Webb and their subsequent actions in freezing any further
funding for the marines relocation until certain milestones are met.
