Police heard noises coming from inside the home and found a broken window along with another window wide open. Court documents state officers observed the home in disarray and appeared to have been ransacked. Police found Tommy Chargualaf Flores and Rachel Lynn Short inside. Documents state Flores told police they were homeless and thought the residence was abandoned.

Flores also allegedly stated they entered the residence to look for food and money. The pair were booked and confined on charges of burglary as a 2nd degree felony and criminal trespass as a misdemeanor.
