Guam - The Guam Education Board can breathe a sigh of relief as Untalan Middle School students and staff have made a successful move to the CoreTech facility in Tiyan. According to GEB chairman Francis Santos, the memorandum of agreement and the school calendar were also approved at today's board meeting.
He said, "The MOA is done. I'm so glad the school is open so we move on and the next job is to identify whether or not we're going to rebuild, renovate, or repair our schools."
Santos adds that the board is beginning discussions with the governor to identify funds and set timelines for the Barrigada project. According to Fire Prevention Bureau Captain Joey Manibusan, the interim Tiyan campus remains on fire watch as the fire alarm is still being tested.
GFD expects to return for a follow-up inspection on Friday.
