Man drives vehicle into ocean during alleged kidnapping

by Nick Delgado

Guam - A female victim who made allegations that she was held against her will and touched inappropriately led to the arrest of 34-year-old Redson Romu. According to Superior Court documents, the victim was supposed to have been dropped to a relative's house in Dededo, but instead was driven by Romu to a large beach park in Agat. Once they arrived to the beach, Romu allegedly asked the victim to have sex, but after she refused the pair headed towards a residence in Pagachao.

Documents state Romu allegedly began to inappropriately touch the victim. A struggled ensued and Romu then crashed the vehicle into the ocean.

When police responded, Romu allegedly told them the crash was his fault, as he felt sleepy after drinking 12 beers.  He was booked and confined on charges of kidnapping, 4th degree criminal sexual conduct, and driving under the influence of alcohol.
