Guam - The Lady Islanders
made their way to Yigo to take on the Sharks in high school softball. The
Islanders took to the plate first and went 3 up 3 down to get the game under
way. Sanchez would mark first scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the first thanks
to Missy Ngiraklang who ripped a 2-run double; she finished with 3 RBIs at the
plate.
Teammate Dianade Taitingfong added to the Sharks lead in the
bottom of the second when she got a hold of the pitch and sent it to center
field to bring home Analisa Evangelista from second base with the stand up
double. Sanchez pitcher Jayleen Miner recorded 3 strikeouts in the ball game as
the Sharks walked away with their first win of the season 16-1.
Sanchez scored 3 runs in the 1st, 5 in the 2nd, 2 in the 3rd
and 6 in the 4th to secure the win while J.F.K'S lone run came in the top of
the 3rd.
In other games Southern beat out Southern High 14-5, G.W defeated
Academy 9-7.
