Bordallo meets in Japan about forces

by Sabrina Salas Matanane

Guam - The realignment of military forces in the Pacific and recent progress in the development of a Futenma Replacement Facility in Okinawa were among the discussions Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo participated in during a recent visit to Tokyo, Japan.

Bordallo, along with some of her colleagues, was part of the U.S.- Japan-South Korea Legislative Exchange Program. Guam's delegate used the time to discuss recent actions by Congress on the buildup as well as the Obama Administration's continued commitment to strengthen military presence in the Asia-Pacific Region.

Bordallo notes the meetings serve as an important tool for collaboration and better understanding of issues of mutual importance.
