Man turns self in for attempted robbery of gas station

Guam - A man who tried to rob the Agat Mobil Gas Station turned himself in to police hours after he committed the crime.  Joseph John Cruz Mendiola told police that he wore a ghost mask and carried a air soft gun when he tried to rob the cashier at the gas station.

According to court documents, Mendiola tried to open the front door but it was locked.  He told police he pointed the gun at the cashier in hopes she would open the door, but instead she called police and Mendiola fled.  The 35-year -old was arrested and charged with attempted second degree robbery.
