Guam - As the Department of Education waits on the board to give the green light for Untalan Middle School to move to CoreTech's facility in Tiyan, officials are waiting on the attorney general to approve the amended lease agreement. Governor Eddie Calvo says the Administration will release more information on the specifics of the negotiations with CoreTech. The lease agreement is set to begin on February 1 and run through 2024.

Calvo said, "I'm one guy that knows that we're not going to spend more than we take in, and I'm very comfortable with the negotiations within the affordability and the budget of the Government of Guam. We are now at the Attorney General's Office, waiting for their comment and their forward movement in this."

UMS faculty and staff have proposed beginning the move on January 20 and making up the days during Easter Break and at the end of the year. The Guam Education Board is set to meet this Thursday at C.L. Taitano Elementary School at 8:30 in the morning to discuss the proposed move.
