Guam - The Public Safety Committee wants to see more law enforcement presence in the island's schools. During a meeting this morning, public safety agencies' plans for the New Year were discussed along with the committee's major initiative that will compliment the role of school resource officers.

Public Safety Advisor Eric Palacios said, "It really is a community outreach effort that we want to implement in a very positive light, we want the kids to know there are mentors in the community people they could look up to."

He adds the committee is exploring options to cut spending in all public safety agencies without impacting personnel or services.
