Guam – The Guam Environmental protection agency warns beach-goers that 15 beaches are polluted above the accepted bacteriological standards. These waters include East Hagåtña Bay - Trinchera Beach, Padre Palomo Park Beach, Asan Bay Beach, Piti Bay, Santos Memorial Park, Togcha Beach - near Namo River, Togcha Beach - Agat Park Beach, Bangi Beach, Nimitz Beach, Umatac Bay, Toguan Bay, Merizo Pier at Mamaon Channel, Merizo Pier at Mamaon Channel, Inarajan Pool, Inarajan Bay, and Talofofo Bay. Guam EPA cautions that any type of activity in these waters could result in illnesses such as sore throat or diarrhea. West Hagatna Bay also remains closed due to a fractured outfall at the Hagatna sewage treatment plant.
