Guam - In an effort to reduce the number of people loitering around business establishments drinking alcohol, the Guam Police Department has launched Operation Dragon. The special holiday, enforcement program will target public beaches, parks, and village retail stores specifically looking for those who are drinking or involved in drugs.

Police Chief Fred Bordallo said, "The dragon is a creature, you know, that breathes fire and I believe of this dragon as the theme of this operation, and we want those offenders out there, these people who are thinking of harming our citizens out there during the holiday season, that they are going to face the heat of this dragon of our officers and our law enforcement partners who will be assisting us during this holiday season."

Operation Dragon will also serve as an anti-robbery and response team during the holiday season with a presence at banks and shopping centers.
