Guam - The Simon Sanchez Sharks cap off a near perfect season with the championship win over the Academy Cougars in girl's high school volleyball. Sanchez had only one loss the entire season and went into the title game against Academy looking to take home this year's trophy.

The Sharks played tough and composed despite trailing early in the match. Sanchez fought their way through and took the first set 25-21. The 2nd set saw the Sharks come out with more energy and eventually took a 10-point lead later in the set to get one step closer to the title. Sanchez eventually took the 2nd set win along with this year's title 25-12.

Michelle Quichocho told KUAM Sports, "We have always wanted to win the championship; it's been our goal forever. All of the seniors, we have 5 seniors this year and we all wanted it. We've all worked so hard to get where we are and in 2 sets we were able to do it. We came prepared and our coach, Art Stanley, is the absolute best. He has made us who we are today. He has made us great players and we couldn't have done it without him or the rest of our girls."
