JFK boys, GW girls win cross-country titles

Guam - The 2011 High School Cross-Country season wrapped up yesterday at the Admiral Nimitz Golf Course in Barrigada. The annual All-Island meet started off with the girls taking to the course on a nice sunny day. Crossing the line first was JFK runner Naomi Blaz. She finished with a time of 22:38, followed by Sierra Daughtry from GW with a time of 23:07 and Emma Martin from Guam High in 3rd with a time of 23:10.

Winning this year's girl's cross country team title were the George Washington Gecko's, Guam High came in 2nd while the J.F.K Islanders took home 3rd.

The boys took to the course next and from the start of the gun St. John's Brandon Fell took the lead as they made their way around the golf course. Fell blazed the course with a time of 17:08 for the first place finish. Coming in 2nd was John Aquino from JFK with a time of 18:21, teammate Gerald Asuncion came in 3rd with a time of 18:41. Taking home this year's boy's team title were the J.F.K Islanders, Harvest finished in 2nd while the George Washington Gecko's came in 3rd.
