Sharks, Cougars to play for volleyball title

Guam - This year's girl's high school volleyball championship game is set for Friday at 7:00 pm at the U.O.G Field House. The two teams making the trip to the title game are the Simon Sanchez Sharks and Academy Cougars. The Sharks defeated the J.F.K Islanders last night in the first of two semi final games to advance.

The lady Sharks won 23-25, 25-22, 25-17. Sanchez had only 1 loss during the regular season ending the season with a 15-1 record in the TAGA Division. In the GADAO Division the Academy Cougars squared off against the George Washington Gecko's in the later game.

G.W finished the year tied for second in the division with an 11-5 record while the Cougars sat in first place at 14-2. Academy pulled off the 2 set win against the Gecko's 25-20, 25-19 to move on and set up the match up between the 2 top teams in the league Friday night at the U.O.G Field House.

The Islanders will face the Gecko's in the early game at 5:30 pm for 3rd place.
