Guam - Guam's Micah Paulino is playing Division I soccer at Niagara University
in New York. He
told KUAM Sports, "I'm excited to play for the Division I School and their
soccer program is growing and it's a great experience. Well first of all I
would just like to let everyone on island know that a lot of our athletes back
home have potential to play at this level, I have no doubt about it. At the
schools they typically look for more well-rounded students, which means you
have to keep up with your grades and you have to be more active in the
community back home.
"Just show that you are a more well-rounded student and
that's what they definitely look out for in actually all colleges."
He added, "I would just like to first thank God of
course for all the opportunities that he has given me. Also I would like to
thank my parents, my Nana and Tata, I love you and of course my family and my
friends. I would also like to thank the GFA and the Guam National Team for raising
me properly and giving me the skills I need to improve as far as soccer skills.
I would like to thank everyone in general from the island for helping support
me and the National Team, thank you very much."
