Guam - In girl's high school volleyball the Academy Cougars played host to the visiting Gecko's on their home court. The Cougars made it tough for GW to get scores playing aggressive at the net and blocking shots. Both teams made good runs in the first set exchanging points and keeping the ball in the air for rallies.
With each side looking to gain the upper hand errors kept the game pretty close before the Cougars were able to pull away. Academy would take the first set 25-15. Things continued to go in the home teams favor in the second set, as the Cougars were able to maintain a slim lead. The Cougars played smart and stayed composed for the 2nd set win 25-17.
In the JV game, Academy picked up the win in 3 sets 25-17, 16-25, 25-18.
