Guam - Governor Eddie Calvo participated in a conference call to Washington regarding the China-Russia Visa Waiver Program. Calvo tells KUAM News the discussion was with Deputy Undersecretary of Defense Dr. Dorothy Robyn, Undersecretary for the Navy Robert Work, and Assistant Navy Secretary Jackalyn Pfannensteil regarding the key issues related to moving the program forward.

He said, "We wanted to get clarity in their areas of concern, and within the Defense Department, we note that there are other areas of the visa waiver program where there are some issues and with that that does weigh-in. The Department of Homeland Security will move on this issue."

Calvo had previously mentioned that the Administration's plans for the future didn't just entail the military buildup up but the encouragement of the visa waiver for China and Russia.
