Guam - So much for being partners in the Pacific. Evidently Guam had to find out from media in New York that the Secretary of the Air Force Michael Donely was recently visiting officials and airmen at Andersen Air Force Base.

The Brooklyn Daily reporting an airmen's call was held with Donely who told airmen "as the farthest western piece of sovereign territory in the U.S., Guam is critically important to the United States."

Guam Buildup Committee Chairperson Senator Judi Guthertz reacts saying the insensitive handling of Donely's visit doesn't help in fostering a harmonious relationship between the island's civilian community and all the branches of the military operating in Guam.
