Guam - A cheerleading clinic was held at the Guam Sports Complex for all the teams involved with this year's Guam National Youth Football Federation League. The clinic was held to ensure the safety of all the cheerleaders and to make sure each team is up to speed with all the rules and regulations.
Norly Cabrera Balbin discussed the cheer clinic, saying, "Today with Celene who is one of the cheer coordinators, she is actually certified with the cheerleading association so I have her assist me with today's event. She has taken the time to show all the dos and don'ts for safety. Cheerleading is an awesome sport but safety is first and a lot of 5the things we wanted to cover is conditioning. Before the cheerleaders go out and do their stunts they have to be strong with their postures and different moves associated with cheerleading. Another thing that we wanted to address was dress appearance.
"A lot of the provocativeness that kind of goes on with cheerleading we have toned that down because of the ages of the cheerleaders. A lot of them are starting at 4 years old up to 16 so we hope that a lot of the parents that did not attend today will be informed about this."
