Guam - The Guam Air National Guard's engineer unit is slated to deploy to the Southwest Asia region in support of Operation Enduring Freedom early next year. Military officials state members of the 254th RED HORSE squadron will be partially mobilized to support an upcoming mission. Guam National Guard adjutant general Benny Paulino states, "This pending deployment of our 254th RED HORSE squadron will certainly have a significant impact on our Air Guard component, as well as our families and employers. We wanted to inform the people of Guam as early as possible about this deployment to allow our families and employers to make adjustments and be ready. "

The deployment is expected to last about 6 months.
