Guam - Miss Guam Universe Shayna Jo Afaisen and Miss Guam International Katarina Martinez paid a courtesy visit to Governor Eddie Calvo's office before they make their way off-island to represent Guam in their respective pageants. Afaisen will compete in Brazil on September 12 and Martinez in China on November 7.

Afaisen, who leaves Monday, says she hopes to represent Guam proudly. "I think the most important thing is to not only represent Guam but be the true reflection of Guam and our people and show the beauty of our people and beauty if our culture," she said.

Afaisen says she'll need the people of Guam's support to vote for her, as the Miss Universe Organization will launch a People's Choice Poll. You can vote for Shayna starting tomorrow through September 11 at MissUniverse.com. You can catch the Miss Universe Pageant live from Brazil on KUAM-TV8.
