Guam - Joint Region Marianas presented its proposal in the Programmatic Agreement to the Mayor's Council today. Public Affairs Officer Lieutenant Matt Knight says the public access plan would allow residents to have easier access when visiting historic sites on military installations.
He said, "There is access right now, it's just not a consolidated plan across the region so what we are doing right now with the public access plan is we are trying to integrate the different policies that are on Andersen or other DOD federal lands and move them into one plan that consolidated versus going to someone at Andersen and someone at Naval Base."
He says they are working with the village mayor's to move forward with the public comment process.
