Guam - Senator Ben Pangelinan has fired-off a letter to Airport Executive Manager Mary Torres requesting information on a recent notice to solicit interest to lease/develop airport property for a "built to suit" facility on Guam. According to the notice, the ground space would be used for the Immigration & Customs Enforcement and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Senator Pangelinan's concerns stems from the fact that the federal GSA has also publicly advertised for an office lease for ICE and the FBI. Additionally because GIAA has consistently restricted private landowners consistently citing that all GIAA lands must be used for airport use. Pangelinan saying, "I question the GIAA's decision to now offer development of property to private developers for activity and operations that have no bearing on airport use."
