Guam – Acting Guam fire department fire chief Ray Perez is being given more time to gather the needed records and information to support his qualifications. Public safety oversight senator Adolpho Palacios conducted an independent investigation revealing that Perez does not meet the requirements to lead GFD.
A news release from the senator's office states, the postponement follows consultation last week between the senator and the governor's legal counsel. This allows Perez more time to retrieve some records and information the senator is requesting.
While a new date for the Wednesday afternoon hearing will be announced at a later date, Palacios says the informational meeting with GFD will still be held at 9am that same day.
