Guam - The Guam fire department is investigating a structure fire at a Tamuning apartment complex this evening. Guam police and GFD Rescue units responded to the scene near the Sheraton resort after receiving the 911 call of smoke exiting the apartment window around 6pm.
GFD's Captain Ray Garrido says the fire was confined to a second floor apartment in the living room area. He says no injuries were reported, and the tenants were not home at the time. Garrido says fire fighters were able to secure the blaze around 6:30pm, and the unit suffered minor smoke damage.
He adds arson investigators were also called to scene to make their assessment and determine what started the fire.
