Guam - Power providers throughout the Pacific from Australia, the Cook Islands, American Samoa, the FSM, Palau and Guam took part in the 20th Annual Pacific Power Association Conference. Consolidated Commission on Utilities chairman Simon Sanchez says the last meeting was held on Guam in 2005 and this year's brought out the largest turnout.

The conference started on Monday and continues until Thursday at the Westin Resort Guam. This year's theme is "The Role of Utilities in Support of Island Sustainability". Said Sanchez, "It's an excellent professional exchange plus you get to see the latest widgets that are available and it brings power producers together to share common solutions and common problems and hopefully take away from the conference a way to help our own community."

The conference features 73 delegates and over 100 vendors that will also be participating in a trade exhibition starting tonight displaying products intended to aid power efforts in the Pacific Region.
