Guam - With the upcoming school year just weeks away, construction on the Untalan Middle School gymnasium, which started in June, is still ongoing. According to principal Jim Reyes, the Barrigada campus' gym has been closed for two years now and P.E. classes have been conducted outdoors and home games for interscholastic sports have been held at the sports complex in Harmon.

"When it was first closed, it was cited for structure integrity, the beams within the structure were rusting out, it was falling onto the students and onto the gym floors as well, and that was cited by Public Health, I believe. And subsequently closed down," said Reyes.

The gym is scheduled to be completed in September.
