Guam - The wait continues for more than 200 employees at Catholic Social Services. According to Development Officer and Program Manager Jesse Catahay, the Department of Mental Health and Social Services has not paid the organization for the months of May and June.
According to Mental Health Director Wilfred Aflague, the invoices haven't been processed because the accounts haven't been uploaded by the Bureau of Budget Management & Research.
The checks, he says, can't be cut until that happens.
It's the second of its kind happening this year. The Department of Youth Affairs hosting its youth services outreach event over the weekend. DYA partnering with other government and non-profit organizations to put on the event for our youngsters. The goal - to provide services and information to families who are not aware of the resources available to them in the community.
