Guam - The Guam Education Board's Superintendent Search Committee announced two final candidates not three as previously announced. The two that were announced during this morning's meeting were Salvador Avilla and Vince Leon Guerrero.

Avilla is a teacher at George Washington High School and was named Teacher of the Year in 2010. Leon Guerrero works at Adelup as Governor Eddie Calvo's chief education advisor.

Several board members are arguing as to why only two out of the nine candidates made the final cut. Taling Taitano has been named interim superintendent, with Dr. Nerissa Underwood's contract ending this Friday.

The meeting is still underway.
