Guam - Local lawmakers react to this morning's hearing. Senator Judi Guthertz plans to send a letter to Louisiana Congressman Jeff Landry because he needs a lesson on Guam's history she also plans to invite him to visit the territory. "We have to educate these members of congress who are so adamant and clueless about Guam's world war history and the only real way we can do that is by getting him to come here. And hear from our people and to learn," she said.

Vice Speaker B.J. Cruz was a member of the now-defunct Guam War Claims Review Commission that help produce the report submitted to Congress in 2004 which showed the disparity in the way Guam war claims were treated as compared to others.

He said, "The ignorance level is just too high, it's just impossible to try to overcome, but I'm not surprised, but we still have to plot on because it is the right thing to do. And I would hope that at some point everybody would read the report compiled by the commission that Speaker Tony Unpingco and I sat on where we wrote and explained everything in line and verse, where this obligation stemmed from."
